Coordinates: In bed on a rare drizzly day in Oaxaca
today
My co-facilitator, David Swedlow, have been speaking to many amazing men and non-binary humans these last two weeks. We’re shocked, and by that I mean dismayed and upset, to learn how exhausted y’all are. I mean, I knew this… but I didn’t realize the depth. Too many people are so thirsty they can’t stop to take a drink.
All the self-love in the world won’t fill you up if you’re full of holes. We will do a meditation to locate and shed the energetic leaks. These can present lots of different ways – insomnia, wearing yourself out with an infinite to-do list you never finish, bad digestion, chronic pain, or relationships with workmates or lovers that are constant drama… the list is long. The all amount to old identities and idea of self that you’ve outgrown or were never yours in the first place.
Last minute notice: we will be doing some somatic meditation and attunements today at 5:30pm PST / 8:30 EST to address the sources of this exhaustion.
If you miss this one, come next Thursday same time, same channel. Eric Brown of the High Existence podcast will be joining us then.
[music] Listen up, Queen B has a new album, RENAISSANCE, out now on your favorite streaming service. As Missy Elliot would say “hoooooodeehooooooo, run for cover, mutha.”
[beauty] This week brings another from Iris van Herpen from her Shift Souls collection. On her website you can see the detailed process video which are the best thing I know of to spark some creative juices.
[love] Have a heart string that needs a tug? Yes, here you go.
[sweet] I am proof that you can be gluten-free and watch all the videos of desserts to scratch your wheat-tooth. I immediately marked on my Google Map this restaurant, Gage and Tollener, which makes the most gorgeous baked Alaska I’ve ever seen. Next time we get to NYC we’re making a reservation! Who’s in?
[sanity] I was having a pretty rough night and couldn’t sleep so I watched cat videos on the internet like God intended. This will put you right.
a poem by Joy Sullivan
Nothing my friends tell me shocks me anymore. No wild dream or unadvisable plan or moonshot idea. Recently, my friend told me she wants to move to Wyoming to be closer to horses. She tells me horses can hear your heartbeat from 4 feet away. That’s enough for me right there.
Another friend is relocating to Peru. Another to Alaska in search of his true north. Another is adopting a child. Another is turning down a killer job so she can finish the book she’s been trying for years to write. Another is leaving the man of her dreams for a woman.
Look, America is awful and the earth is too hot and the truth of the matter is we’re all up against the clock. It makes everything simple and urgent: there’s only time to turn towards what you truly love. There’s only time to leap.
If this is where you’re at, hope to see you on a Zoom soon.
Besos,
Cris and Team Dragon
