Oh my word, was this week another bizarre one? My guides stripped my egoic self of it’s sense of importance. I’m not sure what will be left of my world after this purge. It’s strangely restful letting go of a whole bunch of things that upon further inspection… aren’t mine to do.
I’m working on an essay draft titled “Leaving SpecialLand” which is about this deep clearing through the layer of spiritual ego that has you be a Very Important Snowflake with a Very Important Purpose. </gag>
It’ll probably take a few weeks to dial this one in, but it’ll be worth it.
look
[art] We begin with weird beauty, one of my favorite kinds of beauty. There’s a treasure trove more of Wifredo Lam’s etchings, pastels, and paintings.
[sillies] This kitty found a fish friend frozen in a pond and she’s sure her human can get it out for her. Did you know 99% of calicos are female and 99% of orange tabbies are male? Well now you do. :D
[art] If the highlight of Fantastic Fungi was the timelapse shots of mushrooms growing, then you’ll find much more where that came from with Louis Schwartzberg’s Moving Art available on Netflix.
[science] We’re gonna sneak in a little science to this week’s cream puff. You know about DNA, but it turns out there’s more DNA inside the DNA. Remember how it’s made of G, C, A, and T, right? Well, coiled up *inside* the G is a tiny four-stranded quadriplex. I have no idea what this means, but I love that information is fractal. The deeper we can look with new microscopes into smaller and smaller scales, the more dense and complex structures we find.
[more cats] This week is a double cute, double cat week. Seriously, this little tabby monster is a SWEETHEART!
[more art] By Dillon His Self. An 8-year-old boy wrote a charming book and secretly snuck it onto his local library’s shelves. When the librarians discovered it, they put it officially in their catalog. There is now a giant waitlist to get the world’s only copy.
a poem
But don’t be satisfied with stories,
How things have gone with others.
Unfold your own myth,
Without complicated explanation,
So everyone will understand the passage,
We have opened you.
Cheerio cheesecakes… till next time take care out there,
