When I posted this list last week on Facebook, some people ask me to take account of my privilege. So let me get in front of this by stating this –
I acknowledge that my privilege as a white American means my journey was in many ways easier than others who walk side by side with me on this planet. I know the path that I followed won’t be the same path as others. I may not be the best teacher for those in very different economic and social circumstances.
That said, I do know in my bones that this universe does bend toward justice. If you caught Part 2 of this series, you’ll know that I don’t see money as an obstacle to getting free. We do have to undo our addiction to the lies we’ve been told about money, though.
The more potent question is “What will you DO with your privilege?”
It does no one any good for you or me to stay enslaved. The first thing someone does when they truly liberate themselves is begin to liberate others. That’s true freedom.
The second question I got was “What do you do to make all the bucks?” Well, I do my job. Likewise, you’ll have to do your sacred calling. If you think you can copy the job that I do to get free, you’re confusing the finger pointing at the moon for the moon.
I put this here not to brag for the sake of bragging, but to illustrate that a life where you do your sacred work does not mean a life of poverty. It’s just the opposite: I live a wonderful, peaceful life that is also full of adventure.
I successfully exited the matrix, ask me anything.
In concrete terms, what does that mean?
I only take on the work that I'm a full holy hell yes to.
I prioritize my spiritual, emotional, relational, and physical health. I don't allow my work to rob me of these.
I rent a simple but gorgeous home with a garden and terrace with a view of the mountains that's well taken care of by an amazing landlady.
I have sufficient money to comfortably pay my rent, buy food, and have enough left to do fun stuff.
I have sufficient money to travel the world. I traveled for 2+ months in 2021 and 3+ months in 2022.
I moved to the country of my choice and established residency.
I don't pay income tax in the country of my birth, the USA. (Yes, there's a legal exemption, FEIE, for this.)
I have the time to travel and do art. My time is my own and I have ultimate discretion over how I spend it.
I have the time to nurture close relationships. I have many people in my life who I trust enough to let them see my mess. I'm comfortable crying and being sad and don't wear a mask of counterfeit success anymore.
Relational Alchemy event tomorrow
Are you thinking your feelings and feeling your thinkings? Most everyone does.
Do you plan what you’re going to say rather than listening to the person who’s talking? Yah, we all do it.
It’s so hard to get your chattering brain to be quiet.
Relational Alchemy is a place to practice stillness and speaking from the deeper parts of ourselves so we may be witnessed. Magic happens when we are witnessed with love.
