Hey, I’m really glad that you’re here. Like… really glad. Let me ground all that’s about to come first with that. It gives me life to write to y’all. Thank you.
*deep breath*
I’m not supposed to say that I know I’m sexy. I know I’m magnetic.
I’m not supposed to say I know some of you are attracted to me. Some of you have a little or big crush on me. I’m not supposed to lick flowers suggestively and then post them online where any ole’ Harry Dick or Tom can see them and encourage such behavior.
😘
I’m DEFINITELY not supposed to say I know some of you are jealous of me.
And most tenderly I say to the tender hearts out there: I’m not supposed to say that some of you eagerly open each email I send and are cheering me on from the sidelines BUT you don’t think you could ever do anything this different, bold, audacious, or whatever. (BTW, that’s bullshit.)
If one of these applies to you, then you’re here for a reason. Whether you consciously know it or not:
You want to become this thing I call a magician.
To clarify, I use “magician” to describe artists who use every tool or technology which truly delights them to make art that expresses the voice of their being. Don’t get wrapped up in the term “magician.” I’m not trying to make you into some elite asshole, only simply to describe an archetype of power and creativity that you’re (hopefully) on your way to embodying if you finally get over your fears.
Jealousy and crushes are very helpful! They call us to get unstuck when our fears of losing security, belonging, and safety are trying their best to “protect us” but only keep us stuck. Our fears are really boring. They rarely say anything new.
You can learn to ignore the bullshit words that your fears taunt you with over and over. You are allowed to learn how to transcend fear so that you can be free. You get to be free. You get to be free.
I became a magician and dragon to boot when I had the audacity to raise the money and do the work to print the Becoming Dragon deck, and that was fun, to say the least.
It changed me forever. I don’t have time today to tell you the fullness of it today, but let me underline that again – making my art changed me forever. I’m a different person.
I say 👉 if 👈 you finally get over your fears because it’s not inevitable.
It’s a choice. It’s the hardest choice I’ve ever had to make, and I have to choose it again multiple times every single day.
Inhabiting joy, intimacy, and power
and wielding it in a beautiful way
requires a strength I wasn’t sure if I had.Deep within the center and stillness
of my being,
I do.You do, too.
Making this choice is still sadly an unusual thing. Most people never do. My mama or dad or grannies or granddads never did.
Please, for the love of yourself and everyone who your voice and art will touch if you finally get over your fears, click the link below. All you are doing is raising your hand so that I can see you. I’ll ask a couple of follow-up questions so that we can move this ball forward.
This represents a baby step to becoming your powerful, joyful self that lies underneath the fear.
Even if you can’t think of any good reason why you’re doing this since clearly you are not an artist or a magician (which is the bullshit talking), or don’t understand what it means, or what will happen after… take a breath and sense your heart. If it’s beating faster than usual and you wish to say yes to the unknown magic and mystery of what lies ahead of you, then this button is your portal.
