You cannot inhabit your authentic power without vulnerability.
So then, what was my most powerful question ever? It was by necessity a very vulnerable one.
I asked people to tell me what I do different or better than anyone else. I asked those who had known me for various lengths – a short time, a few years, or for most of my life.
I kept asking until I had about a dozen replies. (Yes, this is the actual hardest part. Don’t quit!)
The things my friends and clients said still ring in my ears and help me refine my strengths into superpowers. These dozen replies inform my life every day either directly or indirectly.
My friend Ryan Snyder told me –
You skip the queue. You don’t care how ‘important’ a person is or what the normal path to getting in front of someone is — You just go ahead make it happen directly.
Now, every time I’m frustrated that I can’t make something happen, I hear his voice in my head saying this. I can feel his encouragement to KEEP GOING. I remind myself there’s no need to be frustrated, I only need to get up the courage to reach out to the person who is positioned to help, no matter how scary or useless it seems to do so.
What your people will say will change you deeply if you let it soak in. Mark my words.
Happy Monday, my favorite creatures. Thanks for being here.
Love,
